About Us

We are located in the beautiful city of Conway, South Carolina situated on the banks of the Waccamaw River. We are 15 miles from Myrtle Beach and the Grand Stand area of SC, all in the Independent Republic of Horry County.

Jamestown Baptist Chuch began as a small mission on Sycamore Street in the mid 1940's. The only service offered was Sunday School. Those desiring to attend Worship Services went to First Baptist Church on Elm Street. On Sunday, June 13, 1948, a service of organizing a Baptist Church in the Jamestown Community was held and Jamestown Baptist has been in existance ever since. There were 23 charter members. An average of 190 attend our two Sunday Morning Services.
